Heywood Sloane is a national authority in the bank, securities and mutual fund businesses, and is a Principal of DSG. He combines executive and line management experience in the banking, securities, mutual fund, information and publishing industries into an unique global perspective that spans investment, marketing, media, systems and information management disciplines.

Prior to becoming a principal of DSG, Mr. Sloane was General Manager and Director of Institutional Markets for Wiesenberger, a major mutual fund information company. He merged two pre-existing information companies and increased the size and scope of the merged business to include variable annuity and closed end fund databases and software. He also directed the redesign and development of a state of the art software and on-line research and sales systems. While at Wiesenberger he created the Hysales/Investment View software system, a performance measurement, hypotheticals, and asset allocation system.

From 1981 to 1991, he was a Vice President with Delaware Group working with the chairman and president on a variety of strategic initiatives. There he was responsible for product management, retirement plans, and marketing. He was also a Founding Director of Delaware Management Trust Company. During this time he developed and introduced over 20 various types of domestic and international mutual funds, the industry’s first "class of shares structure" for a long term fund, a variable insurance product line, as well as unique and successful hybrids of deposit, transaction, credit and securities products. He was instrumental in the migration of both the transfer agency and retirement plan processing systems to new platforms.

Previously, Mr. Sloane held various positions of increasing responsibility with The Philadelphia National Bank in the commercial and international areas where his responsibilities included: developing the Credit Products Management discipline for the commercial banking group, major systems development, and instituting a Non-Credit Product function across the entire Commercial & International Banking Group.

Mr. Sloane has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Haverford College and a Masters in Management from The London School of Economics. He has served on various marketing and research committees of associations in the banking, mutual fund and financial planning industries and is currently a Managing Director of the BISA.. In addition he has served on the boards of both profit and non profit corporations.
