Raymond Melcher brings clients over 25 years of senior executive experience in financial services and other industries with particular expertise in community bank turnaround and the acquisition and integration of insurance agencies and investment firms by banks.

From 1998 to 2005, Ray was Chairman, President and CEO of Leesport Financial Corp. and its wholly owned subsidiary Leesport Bank. He also served as Chairman of Leesport Wealth Management LLC and Essick and Bar LLC, affiliate companies of Leesport Financial. Under his leadership, Leesport grew from a $200 million struggling community bank to a $900 million financial services firm. It received national recognition for its efforts in building and integrating one of the most significant (relative to assets) and successful bank insurance programs in the country. In addition, Leesport had a growing wealth management group and provided a wide range of investment products and services to its customers.

Prior to joining Leesport, Mr. Melcher was President and CEO of Security National Bank. In addition he has held executive banking positions at Keystone Financial and National Penn Bank. Mr Melcher was also COO of Hi-TECH Connections, Inc., a start-up computer network firm that was sold to a public company in 1995.

Ray holds a MBA from St. Joseph’s University (Philadelphia) and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Banking & Finance. He has received numerous professional and community awards, has served on the Board and Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association and is currently on the Board of the Bank Insurance & Securities Association.
