Workshops and Educational Presentations

DSG is frequently retained to facilitate planning meetings and educate groups of executives from client Board members to line staff. DSG is able to facilitate focused business planning sessions, and/or provide topical presentations at client or industry meetings. Clients and participants benefit from our industry experience and knowledge, research findings, and continuing interaction with key industry groups. Following are examples of topics.

Bank Practice:

Financial Services Industry Strategic Overview and Program Integration
This presentation lays out a clear "strategic case" for banks to embrace the investment and insurance businesses and the groundwork for program integration. Clients have used this presentation to keynote meetings for senior executives, boards, line employees or sales executives. Where appropriate, added emphasis is placed on program integration and sales culture.

Business Planning
This session helps participants understand how to develop and implement a successful plan in the context of their larger organization. Building upon our proven approach to business planning, the material covers "linkages," planning and implementation, and provides examples of templates or worksheets that may be individually adapted.

Sales Culture
This session delves into the differences between a true integrated sales culture and a more common "referral" culture - and what it takes to achieve the former. It goes under the surface to help executives and their staffs understand the true depth of the issues and their ramifications.

Compensation
We promote the concept of compensation as a strategic tool rather than simply payment for sales. The program addresses the development of compensation programs that reward desired behaviors and activities rather than only sales volume. It also addresses team vs. individual compensation issues. This topic can be handled as a presentation or the basis for a focused workshop/planning session leading to the development of a new company compensation plan.

Managing Rep Performance
Designed for smaller (12-25) groups, this very interactive discussion session is for front line sales managers. It focuses on behavioral job descriptions, joint sales calls, and sales meetings.

Retirement Practice:

Retirement Market Opportunities
The focus is on the (post) Retirement Income and Asset Management Market. "If retirement savings has been a home run for our industry, (post) retirement income and asset management will be a grand slam." This presentation draws on DSG’s 6+ years of retirement market research (with consumers, financial advisors, industry executives, retirement plan administrators, and employers) to show the tremendous potential of this market, the differences/nuances that most professionals do not really understand, and the particular opportunities for financial institutions.

New Trust Opportunities
Based on our market research, DSG provides and overview of the rapidly changing trust marketplace and examines various options and their rationales. This is an excellent kick-off to planning for new or expanded trust initiatives.

Focused Retirement Market Issues
DSG principals have given numerous presentations focused on specific elements/issues/opportunities in the Retirement Market. These draw on our research findings, consulting experience and other industry efforts such as the Retirement Management Executive Forum. Sessions may be formal presentations or interactive workshops.
